Happy New Year!
I hope that this is a good year. To start the new year off I recorded the mileage of the Volt, the vehicle displays and the Kw meter reading.
The Volt displays,
We reset the "A" Trip Odometer, when we refuel the Volt.
This picture of the "A" trip ODO screen shows 500.1 miles on this tank, with a fuel usage of 1.8 Gal. of Fuel. For an average fuel economy reading on this tank of fuel of over 250 mpg.
This picture of the main stack display shows the Energy Information.
This is typical 18.2 miles and used 6.3 Kw of electricity or about 3 miles per Kw.
The usage of the Electric Heated Seats and Interior Cabin Climate Controls cause this number to change slightly. It is higher in the colder weather because of the climate settings.
This screen also shows a Lifetime MPG of 106 MPG!
This is the "B" Trip ODO screen, we reset the mileage on this screen to "0" when we bought the Volt.
So, the miles shown on this display show the miles that we have driven the Volt under our ownership.
It also displays the Gallons of Fuel used and the AVG. Miles per gallon during our ownership of the Volt.
We hope to never reset this "B" trip ODO, so that it will always give us this, our driving, information.
This is the EKM Kw meter it says that to this point we have used 320.54 Kw to recharge the Volt.
This display is not resettable, so this number will need to read periodically to see recharge energy usage.
The Kw meter was installed on the 11th of Dec, 2013, so it has been
in operation recording my to-date electrical usage to recharge the Volt.
Our
local Idaho Power utility rate is typically $.10 per Kw. So it is
pretty easy to estimate my recharge costs by moving the decimal in the
Kw reading one place to the left. This number is the one $ amount of
the current meter reading.
320.54Kw X $.10 = $32.05 to recharge from the 11th of Dec. to today (Jan 1, 2014).
